They want what males want: to see a variety of characters leading different lives that can inspire RugbyPlayingAshaman Send a noteboard - 09/09/2010 03:47:08 PM
Seriously, many of my female friends love "Sex and the City", but quite a few are also athletes, business women, entrepeneurs and housewives. I think they would like to look at the screen and see more than one type of female character (or character, in general) represented in a variety of different settings and situations.

Human beings have a wonderful ability to live life in very different ways, and I think we would all like to get a sense of reinforcement that just because our quirks and beliefs don't match some outmoded and unrealistic ideal it doesn't mean we are invalidated or "weird".

We're humans and even though we are very social animals, most of us hate being told what to do. Being exposed to only one image or representation for how we should look, think, act or feel is what makes us think we need "a room of our own" just to be ourselves.
