That took a bit of thinking. It's Mårran is Swedish and Mörkö in Finnish. Hufsa just doesn't sound right.
It does, too!
It is a personification of chill and winter/autumn. That name presents that perfectly.
Not to my ears, but I don't speak norska.
Well, when you are cold and/or scared, you can say "huff" or "huffamei", and it also joins with the word "hustrig" which means that it is cold and wet, weather that will make you shake. I am sure I could also call that kind of weather (especially if it is windy) "hufsete" as well.
My main problem with Mörkö is the gender. Everybody here thinks it's a he.
But she has a handbag!
A man-bag
I must've missed that.
I must've missed that. The Finnish voice actor is a man with a deep voice. See link, it was the only one I could find.
Huh. I have no idea what she sounds like in Norwegian. I was too busy being terrified, hiding behind people and generally sticking fingers in my ears.
What monsters are scary?
Well, nothing natural is. I watched Jaws (Tappajahai) when I was eight. No biggie. It's the mangled bodies and crazy serial killers (Voorhees, the Dutch name terrifies me) that scare me. But it's sort of a nice feeling. I love horror films.

I get more scared by writing than by film, so I'm going to go with the unseen bit.

I watched an interview with Gaiman in which he said Coraline scares adults but not kids.

I think that what I can't see is scarier. Once they actually take a physical form it ceases to work.
