Actually, it wasn't as gory as it could have been, I'd say. If there was some American remake, I bet it'd be three times as gory.

I got that it was a dystopian society, and I've looked up some background info so it makes more sense, but I still have some questions. I still have no idea who the smart, popular kid that hung himself was.

The book. Also, my impression is that they're not going to be making an American version due to the age of the characters. Especially if they go even closer to the book.
