About how far they would go with Tyrion's ugliness. But isn't it until the sea battle in book two that he gets half of his nose cut off? We'll see how they'll solve that, but I doubt they'll make it too hideous.
He definitely gets worse there, no doubt. In my mind, he was still described as uglier than that from the start though.
Think you're right again that they won't make him look too bad, even after the attack, if they're starting him out where they are.
