Better blacks, less worry about artifacting, and a better price versus size. I've owned both an LCD and Plasma tvs, and I'm considerably happier with the Plasma than I ever was with my LCD tv.

If you're dead set on the Samsung LCD tv though, I'd probably go with the regular LCD over the LED LCD. The LED adds a price to the purchase that I don't think is justified for a small amount of savings on size. If the LED tv does local dimming.....then maybe I'd buy that over the regular LCD screen, but I'd still have problems justifying the extra cost for it.
