There are plenty of very poignant moments shared by Harry and Hermione in the film; the graveyard scene was very touching. But someone might have missed it, so we get treated to the blatant display of nonsense that was the dance. They're friends, not awkward lovers-to-be. The graveyard scene is the former, the dance the latter.
