thats the death of good Science Fiction on television imlad Send a noteboard - 17/12/2010 11:43:11 PM
CAPRICA and SGU were the only two non-CAMP, non-CHEESE SF shows airing this past year on any television network. And with both of them being cancelled, we no longer have any serious shows left in the genre until GAME OF THRONES starts (and honestly, that is not even SF, but fantasy, so it doesn't really count).

Now, the best shows one can hope to watch (within the genre at least) are EUREKA and WAREHOUSE 13. Unfortunately, neither show takes itself seriously, nor are they meant to be taken seriously. They are more camp and cheese than honest to the gods decent SF with real thought to them.

What is it about being a network executive that causes people to lose what brain cells they were born with? Is it wearing a tie to work? Getting a large salary? What is it?

Of course, the whiny fans of the original two SG shows didn't help either. They just couldn't figure out how to get into an INTELLIGENT show with quality acting and writing; they wanted more of the corny jokes and cardboard acting that we got for more than a decade from the other two SG shows.

I love that show! I really hope somebody else picks it up if possible. Anybody else here watch Stargate Universe?
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.

I'm a little disappointed. I do like the show, but hopefully they'll have a satisfying conclusion. *NM* - 17/12/2010 02:00:07 AM 347 Views

My problem was the use of the name Stargate. - 18/12/2010 12:18:27 AM 792 Views
Maybe they should have called it, Wormhole X-Treme? *NM* - 18/12/2010 12:50:14 AM 336 Views
What constitutes a "Stargate" show? *NM* - 18/12/2010 05:24:21 AM 371 Views
A show in which they actually use the Stargate. *NM* - 18/12/2010 05:31:45 AM 358 Views
Yes, it's quite surprising they have never ever used the stargate in the show. not once. ever. *NM* - 18/12/2010 05:34:15 AM 339 Views
No, wait, there was that one time...! - 18/12/2010 06:51:22 AM 919 Views
Point is, that it's still a Stargate show, simply with a different flavour. *NM* - 19/12/2010 12:24:16 AM 356 Views
