It doesn't have to follow the same formula as the previous two, but there is something that is Stargate that this show is not. The other two shows had the ability to make fun of themselves. There was a certain amount of camp and an attitude of not taking itself too seriously.
Universe has none of that. Instead you have people trapped on a ship...and after two season you still know next to nothing about. You have a hell of a lot of drama that focuses on Earth instead of dynamics between characters on the ship. By the end of the first season, I was ready for the Stones to be dropped completely. I noticed that more than half of the interpersonal conflicts would not have happened if people weren't sending their consciousnesses back to earth every couple of hours.
This show is just one big soap opera and one that is not done as well as BSG was. It has it's moment, but the entire first season had only one episode that is worth watching.

Castle: This is so weird. I dressed up as him for Halloween.
Beckett: Me too.

I'm a little disappointed. I do like the show, but hopefully they'll have a satisfying conclusion. *NM*

I watch. I've spent most of the day since the anouncement on the gateworld messageboard.

I would have "officially" watched it more if they'd played nicer with Hulu.

That's why I wasn't "official." If Syfy makes it inconvenient to watch, we aren't counted.

My problem was the use of the name Stargate.
