I didn't sit my kids in front of the tv very often but there were times when I desperately needed a break and it was to cold or snowing outside and they were going stir crazy along with me. At those times I was grateful for Sesamee Street, Mr Rogers or even Blue's Clues.

My daughter doesn't get to watch a lot of tv, but having some of those programs there where she actually does learn something and I get a short break? That's a huge bonus. Sesame Street is a great one. I went to start to teach her to count and she made it to five because of Sesame Street.
