I liked the movie a lot. The series uses different actors in all roles, which was my first source of annoyance (what is the point of Stargate without James Spader? It made up for it (somewhat) by using MacGyver, but it is not consistently good. There are some good episodes, and it does expand the mythology, but it does not fulfill its potential.
See it, by all means, but don't see it because you liked the film.
