I thought Caprica was a good drama if you took it for what it was. I think too many fans tuned in hoping to either see the first Cylon war and were disappointed are the constant melodrama of BSG. Caprica is neither but it does have more consistent story line and better acting than BSG it just moves slower and takes more time to develop. Since it is a prequel you know where the story has to go so if you really are interested in how the cylones became monotheist and why the attacked humanity then it will seem pointless. If you like a well developed back story and complex characters you may want to give it a try. If your ideal scfi show is Stargate Atlantis you might not like it. It all comes down to a question of taste but personally I thought it was one of the better done scfi TV shows.
