It was pretty much everything I want out of Doctor Who: simultaneously hilarious, terrifying, and triumphant. YAY!!
I was really floored by the opening before the credits. I mean, I knew obviously that everybody wasn't really going to die, but still, it got me. The body bags!! Yikes. And after that, there was a LOT of scary stuff. The Silence, good Lord. Poor Amy - just WHAT were they planning to do with her? And Rory, what a gem. I love him - the part where he saluted America: I died laughing. He should wear glasses more often.
That said, we STILL don't flipping know what the deal was with the dead Doctor at the beginning of the Impossible Astronaut. Or who was in the astronaut suit. Or what the deal is with that little girl??? This episode appears to have raised more issues than it answered, but interestingly enough I am okay with that. I trust we will get a solution in time!
It was utterly brilliant though, so I think I might have to watch it again ... hmmm ...
