The story centers on Noah Riley and his sons so a lot of the speaking lines are from white characters but about half of the team he works with are minorities plus one of the the other major characters is black. Noah's little team that he goes out with is basically his son, his son's girlfriend two black guys, an Asian and a thirteen year old white kid. There are three strong females roles in the series and they are not just eye candy but strong women who are capable of taking care of themselves. There are good reasons to not watch it but lack of diversity isn't one of them.
Well, as I said, after seeing so many inaccurate depictions of the D.C. area's population mix in TV and movies, I'm sensitive to the subject. That's one of the reasons I like Bones so much: you get a lot more of the D.C. area vibe than stereotypical shots of the Capitol Dome in an office window.

It's basically "The Librarian" (Noah Wyle in all 3) in TV serial form with an alien invasion plot.
