When was Bumblebee captured?

One scene, he saves Sam and Lennox. The next, he is being held by Decepticons. How did this come about?

Wasn't he in that group that got surrounded and captured shortly after catching the two? Together with the inventor-robot?

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
