The books are more coherent, more humourous, and more complex, to sum it up. Legolas Send a noteboard - 30/07/2011 11:00:29 PM
I watched one of the later movies with my mother who hadn't read the books, and I just gave up on trying to explain things or make the events make sense to her. So much of what happened made no or very little sense, either because they'd dropped essential plot elements or because they'd just changed them so much.
And was it just me, or was the crappiest movie of the series "Goblet of Fire" ???? That movie was horribly directed and edited, and I would say poorly written as well. It was crap, but I think it probably could have been well done. Is the book as bad as the movie?

The book is certainly good, if not perhaps the best of the series. But then, several of the best scenes of the book were cut or altered beyond recognition, so...

I don't remember thinking much good about the movie, but then that is the case with most of them, so, well.
