Did you watch the first episode only, and then saying the whole series is crap? That's what it looks like to me based on what you are citing in your post.

I watched the beginning of the first episode only, and then am saying it doesn't give me anything the books couldn't, and doesn't give me all the books could.

You watched part of the first episode, and are judging the whole series. That's actually more than ridiculous. It's one thing to watch it and not like it, it's another to see 15 minutes then decide it doesn't live up to the books.

That is not what I said at all. What I said was that it offered nothing that the books didn't, and cannot offer as much as the books could. If you claim that this changes later on, then I would like to have an estimate on when I can expect that to happen, as I would be only too glad to give it another try. I have been wrong before, after all, and been pleasantly surprised when I had to revise my opinion.

As for the notion that one cannot make a judgment on something without having experienced it in its entirety, that is completely ludicrous. Of course you can judge something from a fraction of the whole. You risk being wrong, of course, but the very idea that one would have to continue to trudge through something completely abhorrent because it is impossible to know its quality until one has watched it in its entirety.

Hell, if that were true, your opinion that the series is good is equally ridiculous, given that A Game of Thrones is merely the first book of many. You too are judging from only a portion.

And if you need to read My Immortal in its entirety to be able to non-ridiculously judge that it is terrible, then I would much rather remain ridiculous, and sane.


Dress it up all you want, you watched 15 minutes of the pilot episode of a 10 episode season. The fucking pilot episode! I found it to be kind of boring myself. But I still gave it a chance and it really picked up from there. 15 minutes? That's like coming in the middle of a movie, watching one scene, and then judging it by that. Utterly ridiculous.
