Because there are already published references to that character as Osha. For instance, imdb.com, the HBO show site, stuff like that, all have mentioned her as Osha. It was, IMO, bad planning if they had even a clue that there was going to be a problem with the names.
Personally, I don't think the name change has anything to do with D&D, but rather some whiny little pipsqueak in a business suit that works at HBO and was probably breast fed until he was 8.

I'd say she is less important than Asha. But no biggie, I suppose. And I like how the actress looks.
