The first of his latter duology being the only one I found boring. The rest I quite enjoyed, though I was much younger when I read the first trilogy. Matthew Stover is my favourite Star Wars writer though. Zhan would be second. I also enjoyed Greg Keyes' entries, and the X-Wing books, and the Corellian trilogy.
In addition to the five Thrawn books, Zahn also wrote the story of the (Outbound Flight? Outward Bound? ) expedition he referenced in the Thrawn books, which held the real Jorus C'Baoth and which was destroyed by Thrawn, as well as a sequel wherein Luke & Mara Jade accompany a salvage expedition to recover the wreck of that ship. There was also a prequel which took place between the first two movies, and featured the real characters as well as Mara.
