Do they ever try to get roles in these french-setting films?


Honestly, even if a Frenchman playing a Texan would sound ridiculous, I wouldn't criticize a french film for it (although I would probably giggle at the sound). You work with what you got.

I suppose if I discovered that tons of talented/skilled/headlining french actors tried to get these roles and were turned down, I'd be more inclined to criticism.
