I know! That film had potential it didn't entirely use, imho

The Descent was the only recent film I can think of that really scared me. Most new horror movies rely to much on being disgusting which isn't really what I find scary.
What's it about? I'm not looking it up!
It's about a group of girl friends who decide to take a hiking trip down a cave system in the mountains. One lost her child a few months ago and there are tensions. But those aren't the only problems down there with them. Brilliant film.
Set in Scotland too, which means the possibility of Glaswegians, making it more scary.
Filmed there, yes, but as a stand in for the Appalachians.
In which Scotland is walled off from the rest of Britain because of a funky virus that has spread like wildfire there. Later, the same disease is found in London so a team of scientists are forced to go to Scotland to find out whats causing it. Scotland is now gang ruled and post apocalyptic and stuff. Basically Glasgow except covering all Scotland
.

It should have been more MadMax-ish, like the ending, but sadly the middle part was a total mess

YES! The only reason I stayed until the end of the movie was that I needed to know that it ends... *NM*
