I'm not really a huge fan (and I'm often late in catching up), I warn you, though I watch a few series and movies each year... I don't read tons of manga either, but still far more than I watch anime.
Never heard of it.
Mildly interested - I'll watch it when it comes out, but I'm not waiting for it or anything. I use love mecha as a kid (that would be between 74 and 7
but I've grown sort of allergic to the genre once I turned 13. As far as mecha goes, Evangelion is quite more tolerable than most. 
I liked the first movie, not as much the second.
