to overthrow our race and claim our planet for their own, they had no idea they would first have to get through a U.S. navy battleship. If the aliens had known we had discovered gun powder and boats, they would never have left their home planet on such a suicide mission.
All that R&D wasted on chain-balls, when they could have been poking around in the batshit instead.
