If I were Aunt May, and my nephew came home one night acting strange and having the serious munchies, then demonstrated forgetfulness and emotional instability, and then started coming home with bruises late every night, I would immediately assume a serious drug problem and do just a little more than ask what's going on and tell him he's a good person.
