It was terrible, but enough critics would have said it was watchable just because it was Star Wars. Right now it's rated at 63% fresh. Which is waaaaay too high for it to make the list.
A movie that has great special effects and is not boring for one second should be nowhere near a bottom list. Like Episode 1. How was that not watchable? *shakes head*
I think I'd rather see IMDB's version of this list.
Check it. They have their Bottum Top 100. You won't hardly know a movie there. And deservedly so
They cut a bunch of the cutesy Jar Jar shit out, and a lot of the Anakin the sweet little kid stuff, and wow....the movie was dramatically better. Lucas just gave in a little too much to his money grubbing instinct with that movie, and tried to make it too family friendly. Maybe he hoped to follow the Ewok Christmas Special up with a Jar Jar Christmas Special?
But yes it's nowhere near a worst movie of any decade. I mean if National Treasure 2, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, and Elektra didn't make the list then how in the world would Episode 1?
I've actually seen some of the movies on that list! I sometimes go into netflix and try to find the worst rated movies on there and just watch them. They are usually as advertised and thoroughly terrible...but it is good for a laugh.
