Stylistically, in the English language, it is not appropriate to use "male" or "female" as nouns when referring to humans. It doesn't sound good. It is also more of an issue because you'll hear "female" much more often used than "male". I won't rehash whether and why it's offensive, but ironclad's main defense was that he uses both terms, without thinking too much of it. So on an individual basis, he gets a pass for me, since now I have proof of that, and because he doesn't live in an English-speaking country. But the overall point still stands. Unless you're discussing biology, don't use "male" and "female."
