The last two seasons spewed out the worst episodes in the show's history. One right after another, for the entire combined length of the two seasons.

This season opener brought a much needed changed. Instead of House being a static character that never changes in a show that became increasingly less like the House M.D. of old and more like Grey's Anatomy, House is able to cope with his problems and grow as a character and person. I'm once again happy to spend my monday nights on the couch watching this show with my girlfriend, excited at what the coming episodes will bring.

The medical mystery will still take a backseat but at least I won't have to watch Olivia Wilde anymore.
