Yes, boiled down, it is basically "Oh no! Faceless bad guys! Beat them up!" and Loki's plan didn't really make any sense...
But it was exciting, and the dialogue was good, and it was just fun.
I mean, I loved Dark Knight, and Dark Knight Rises was... good, but Avengers was still a breath of fresh air.
