accompany his son Michael (Anomaly XB-6783746) into the temporal wormhole.

When Donald asked Peter if he can speak to him about something, I thought he was going to tell him that Peter would have to be the one to take Michael to the future instead of Dr. Bishop, thereby causing grief and conflict at the end. Considering Peter is himself a Paradox, his presence in the future would allow the timeline to reset and prevent the Observers from invading.

Maybe it was a red herring to throw the viewers off, but I thought September showing human characteristics and volunteering to be weakly presented.
