Also, the kidnappers used Alexis' webiste to find out where the other girl would be. The chances of finding that kind of information from a friend's website seem slim to the point that it's not worth the effort. Unless they were the best of friends, of which there is no indication. So, logically, Alexis was the target.
But when they spoke Arabic, I decided it wasn't as likely.
Except Arabic was spoken before they figured out the web site part.
Maybe the dad's not a rich as he seems, perhaps because of troubles back in Egypt, and he needs a little cash. The daughter's bodyguard told him about Alexis and he then planned the kidnapping. The daughter knows nothing of it. The bodyguard went after the van because the daughter wasn't supposed to be taken. Or she was and he was supposed to be killed trying to save her, to eliminate one more witness. The drug dealer was killed, but they couldn't explain that. Don't be suprised if the driver gets killed, too.
