Some more spoilers included

View original postThe bear pit scene and how they are handling Jaime may be one of my favorite things about this season so far. He may not be entirely that likable in the books, but it's still a great portrayal and fine acting.

The Jaime/Brienne arc was one of the more boring one's to me in the book, the TV show has made it one of the most interesting.

View original postThe dragons look absolutely fantastic. And I liked Dany even more in this scene than when she sacked and burned the other place. That was really well done and her choice to rather free slaves than sail right to Westeros is convincing and buys the show some time before audiences will start to wonder what the hell she is still doing on that side of the world.

I think they are still going to have a massive hurdle trying to deal with the fact that Dany's entire arc turns into pointless filler as soon as her conquests are done. Worse then pointless filler, since Dany's behavior goes from clever and logical but also ethical and ruthless to... absolutely retard mode while wallowing in angst.

View original postSo Robb's wife is pregnant. Now what does that mean? Will it lessen the blow of the RW because she will make it out alive and give birth to an heir some day? I can't entirely remember what happened to her character in the book. She was just caught and mistreated, right? Or do they make the RW worse by killing her and the baby as well? Unlikely. I think they'll go the first direction.

She next shows up for a cameo in Jaime's POV in aFfC and is sent off to the crag under guard with orders she's not to marry for two years and secret orders to kill her if an escape/rescue is attempted. There's a theory kicking around that she might not have been Jeyne, due to description change in the book, about her hip size.

Of course a more popular one recently and specific to GoT is that they didn't just do a name change to Talisa from Jeyne, since they already had a Jeyne, and some background variance, they did a total overhaul and she's actually Tywin's agent, and it actually fits. Which is a pretty compelling case, regardless though they're obviously planning for this version of Robb's wife to play a much more significant role.

View original postI really hope Theon's torture has reached its climax now (no pun intended), because we've really had enough of that now. They could easily make him disappear now and show up as Reek next season without people forgetting what was going on. I just fear they still want to reveal his torturer's identity this season, so I assume we may see more of that. Le sigh.

I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're going to pull this one off somehow, and actually add something to the plot, but I'm not thinking so.
