The point that a movie has utterly failed in its storytelling obligations if you need to read a comic book (or reference any other source material, for that matter) to understand it never seems to cross their minds. "That archer is awesome and totally capable of contributing to a collaboration of demigods that would embarrass the Argonauts, which you would know if you ever read a comic book...No, no, you have it absolutely wrong! Of course a mainstream movie should adhere to an obscure comic book rather than the widely-known and centuries-old real source material...blah, blah, blah..." Nerds.
