View original postFar too much of Dr Who recently has been about sexual tension as the Drs got younger and younger. The problem is there was no reason why they wouldn't go the whole way when he was so young (in appearance), so taking a step back makes sense.
The only places I'm seeing negative reactions are places like tumblr where it's people giving out that they can't "ship" him because he's too old.
All the non-hormonally motivated reaction seems to be positive. Personally, I think Capaldi could easily be the best modern Doctor.
