Interesting. I'll see if I can find that interview somewhere, should be interesting (Edit: found it) Legolas Send a noteboard - 18/10/2013 07:57:23 PM

Heh. That might well be the case, yeah... have you read the graphic novel?

I'm more curious, when it comes to comparing the movie with its inspiration (they do iirc mention that it's merely "loosely based on" or some such), whether the graphic novel is quite as infuriating on the climactic conflict (which quite robbed me of any sympathy for Emma I had up to that point and retroactively killed much of the romance for me).

Edit: Well, not an interview precisely, but the author's comments on her personal website. In French, but an English translation is available. She's very careful to avoid criticizing the director's interpretation of her work in general, stressing that the work has been out of her hands from the moment it was published - any reader will have their own interpretation, Kéchiche merely turned his interpretation into a successful movie. But yeah, she's clearly not impressed by the sex.

I seem to recall the author of the graphic novel, Julie Maroh, also criticising the sex scenes - 18/10/2013 05:55:39 PM 897 Views
