View original postIt takes an old man and a couple of kids like five minutes to set up explosives to destroy one of the largest buildings in the city, and absolutely none at all of the dozens or even hundreds of people working and living there bothered to look in their own basement.

I was under the impression that the explosives were already down there, left behind by the Mad King for his ill-fated plan to burn the city to the ground. Of course, that just raises the question of why they didn't just get rid of all the wildfire beneath the various landmarks of the city in the years since then.

Still, I absolutely loved that scene. Just wonderfully choreographed.

View original postArya, last seen with severe abdominal wounds on the other side of the ocean, has, completely without the resources of the murder cult she forsook on bad terms, crossed the sea in winter, infiltrated a castle, murdered two of its more prominent inhabitants and borrowed the kitchens to prepare a human pie, without anyone having the slightest clue what she was up to, and all conveniently vacating the central place in the castle to leave their lord, master & father uncharacteristically alone for her to murder him. Because reasons.

I find the show is much, much better if you use Arya's scenes for bathroom breaks

View original postAnd now are we supposed to be rooting for the Dornish? Are we supposed to forget that they murdered an innocent girl just to piss off her mother, because their lazy, self-indulgent douchebag of a boyfriend/father decided to pick a fight out of his weight class? How does the banishment of Melisandre and righteous indignation of Davos, along with all the anti-slavery stuff in Dany's storyline, jibe with suffering the Dornish murderers for political expedience?

This. THIS. They murdered their lord because he wouldn't get into a stupid war over a guy who VOLUNTEERED to take part in a battle to the death and lost, they murdered Marcella to piss of her mother, murdered her betrothed because he was in the way of them seizing power, and I seem to remember them burying some guy in the sand and using him for target practice at one point in the past too. I've been waiting for these pieces of human excrement to get theirs for ages, even resigned myself to the fact that I'd probably have to wait until next season, and now they're working with the protagonists?? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUC-

Maybe Varys is just recruiting them to be expensive dragon feed.

Also, I've never been a fan of Daario, but even I was appalled at the way Dany treated him, especially coming on the heels of her forgiving Jorah Mormont.

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense:

Tyrion: You can't rule in Westeros with someone like Jorah Mormont at your side.

Dany (later): Oh, Johrah, I just can't get rid of you. Go find a cure and then come back to my side

Tyrion (apparently): You can't rule in Westeros with Daario at your side

Dany: Okay. Hey Daario, the guy who's been completely loyal and who loves me for me instead of as a creepy replacement for his ex-wife. You're an inconvenience. Get lost. Also, while we can never see each other again, I'm going to abuse your declaration of loyalty to force you to stay behind and clean up my mess in Mereen while I'm off doing what I REALLY want to do. Because using the people who love me makes me a cool badass who is still sympathetic as long as I pretend to feel bad about it afterward.

Daario: Maybe I could just stick around as some nookie on the side?

Dany: Of course not. Despite me being just fine with that when I was getting married for political reasons in Mereen, it's out of the question when I get married for political reasons in Westeros. Because the show needs to get rid of any romantic loose ends.

Either that or I'm dumping you for Yarra, given all the pointless lesbian innuendo the show shoehorned between us in the previous episode

Still, that "blowing up the sept" scene was really cool...
