He's 35, IIRC, which is maybe five years older than Benjen in the books, but given the general increase in all the main characters' ages, that's not too bad. Sean Bean is 15 years older than him, so that's not too much of an issue.
Not sure why, but I always assumed Benjen was around 40-45. Oh well.
In the book Ned is only 36. If Benjen were in his forties, he'd be the older brother and Lord of Winterfell.
