Not if I name a movie more than 30 years old.

I thought Equilibrium was a fantastic film, and I recognize that it is a copy of Matrix and Harrison Bergeron and Fahreinheit 451.

That's just one example of a cult favorite film.

To paraphrase a quote I like, every author plagiarizes. The best they can hope for is to do it well.


It also depends on how much they plagiarise, and how long ago the origional was made. The real problem is that some genres are over represented because film-makers try to copy things that were successful in the last 6 months.
