Since when does he have the power to look through bones? If he does have that power, then why does he need to cut open skulls to look at the brains?

From what I saw of season 3, he doesn't even need to look at brains to take peoples' powers. So he just likes peeling open skulls, I suppose?

Of course, that's assuming any of the other writers even saw that episode. Which, after watching the first half of season 3, I'm not even remotely convinced of. ;)
