Well casting someone in a wheelchair, for one. globug0822 Send a noteboard - 18/11/2009 11:45:45 PM
She just told him that she's been lying to him for as long as he's known her. She just told him that that "different" thing they had as part of their bond wasn't true. She just reminded him that he will always be different, and outsider.

He had a very understandable reaction... a very human one... one that I am sure that he'll rightfully regret.

Still, in balance with that very powerful number of Dancing By Myself, his reaction is totally understandable.

I thought it was a pretty brave move on the part of the writers ... I thought they handled the topic very well without being maudlin or preachy. It was a good episode overall and I really enjoyed it.

I think it's a healthy person's view of being "handicapped" much like the "Deaf" girl on Heroes.

I don't think it was very brave at all. I think it was cheap.

Really, I'm interested in hearing what you thought about it.

And you know, generally acting like he's a normal person, not an overly emotional girl.

If a guy is getting kissed for what I can only assume is the first time because he is a band nerd in a wheelchair and says things to girl like "my penis still works," then he is not going to freak out and go all whiny when she says she lied about something that has nothing to do with him getting some.

He is going to be inwardly disappointed and fake it because he wants to get some.

That's how guys are in my experience.

And don't even get me started on the Deaf girl whose superpower is SEEING SOUND!

Oy vey.
