you are supposed to assume they found it. I actually thought that it showed them finding it...I don't remember now. All of the Stargates have had alternate universe episodes, they come and go, they aren't constant. I had no problem with them moving on to the next episode. If they had finished that episode, all that would have happened was them getting those creatures and extracting the venom, then purifying the water.
