i mean first were known by the greater American populous. I, for one had no idea who Portman was until Phantom Menance, and I know I'm far from the minority in that. This was also around the time of the first Pirates, so a lot of people had two big huge screenplays blazoning two similar looking actresses they hadn't really heard much about before.
