Personally ... Nate Send a noteboard - 20/12/2009 05:46:07 AM
... I felt that while its biggest moments were just frigging incredible, on the whole it tried too hard to be too good, and ended up suffering far too often from hey-look-at-me-I'm-so-deep-and-meaningful-and-awesome-itis. To me it felt a lot of times like it was filled with pretend depth, shallow depth, the kind that is depth-for-depth's sake without a real cogent or coherent direction, where everything -- always -- is about mystery and twists and confusion and constant drama simply for the sake of having those things, not necessarily because they fit into a larger scheme. In a nutshell, while the show had undeniably great moments, and quite a few of them, overall it fell flat for me because it felt too mentally scattered, unfocused. This is, actually, the same thing that turned me off of Lost somewhere around the third season.

I'm well aware that this makes me a heretic among geeks.

But don't worry. I'm still a full believer in the fact that Adama is the baddest motherfucker this side of Caprica.
