Oh I don't really disagree with you on this, the picture is better...but not go and replace my dvd collection better, or even I'm going to buy this comedy movie in bluray for double the cost better. Some movies definitely deserve the treatment, ones with very bright crisp colors, lots of action, or lots of darkness...but for some random comedy...I can live with the lower quality for 1/2 the price.


I've only upgraded a few movies from DVD to Bluray (Underworld series, 300, Beowulf, and likely 1 or 2 more). However, I'm basically buying any new movies in Bluray format, just because. Also, there are a number of movies I will be upgrading should they ever come out on Bluray (ie: LOTR series).

I certainly will not be upgrading say...Office Space, or Zoolander, or even something like The Godfather, however. Like you, I don't see any real big benefit vs the cost. I would like to for every movie, but it just doesn't make that much sense for some at this time.
