A bit slow in spots, with some pretty gory action in between. The sparse humor was dark and appropriate, but I couldn't help but feel the entire thing was a bit predictable, even with the twist at the end. I didn't deduce or guess that Eli was blind, but I was certain that there was going to be something to justify Eli's surrender of the book and their continued journey to alcatraz. Everything else was very typical and unsuprising- lone wanderer comes into town, pisses off the local bad guy, escapes, is chased, makes a friend, meets some weirdos, and has to give up his prize for the new friend, is punished for it. The cinematography and music made me feel like I was watching Fallout 3: The Movie.
