I'm working under the assumption that the hydrogen bomb detonation somehow sank the Island. So, everything that happened there up 'til '77 still happened.

Ethan, however, would've left on the sub with his mother when Dr. Chang ordered the evacuation.

I also think working under the assumption that a solid majority of everything that "happened" to the Losties before the flight stayed basically the same. IE, Kate killing the stepdad, Sun cheating, Sawyer killing the guy in Australia, Sayyid betraying his friend etc.
