No coincidences, except that Rousseau's baby was stolen from her, whereas Claire let hers behind to follow after 'Dad', later nonchalantly telling Locke that "Aaron is where he needs to be". Previously, I'd interpreted that scene to think that Claire was 'dead', and now a manifestation of the smoke monster. But perhaps she was just infected?
The chief difficulty Alice found at first was in managing her flamingo.
