No coincidences, except that Rousseau's baby was stolen from her, whereas Claire let hers behind to follow after 'Dad', later nonchalantly telling Locke that "Aaron is where he needs to be". Previously, I'd interpreted that scene to think that Claire was 'dead', and now a manifestation of the smoke monster. But perhaps she was just infected?
It seemed to me that you have to be dead in order to be claimed/ infected. Sayid was obviously dead, and we all thought that Claire died when that house got blown up. Remember how Miles was looking at her funny, just like he is looking at Sayid funny now?
Yep, good points.
Also, if I remember correctly, before Rousseau's teamates became infected, they went down into the temple with the smoke monster. Maybe they really died down there. I have to rewatch those episodes though to be sure.
Something that I've been wondering though. Christian Shepard has said that he is kind of a messenger for Jacob right? But is that really true? Was Jacob ever in the cabin, or has he been under the statue all this time?
Good question. I think Jacob was in the cabin, it had the ash ring around it which keeps people safe from Smokey. The question is why he lived there all poorly, then later was found under the statue.
Also: under the temple seemed to be Smokey territory, killing the French, catching up with Ben, etc. But the temple itself seems to be protected, which is another reason why I don't get Jacob living in the lousy cabin.
Ugh. This show confuses the heck out of me.
Indeed
