He should've been killed along with the rest of the Dharma Initiative when the Others attacked. When that was shown, there was no indication that the Others spared children, right? Or any of the Dharma Initiative. Until the writers come up with an explanation of why Ethan wasn't killed, his existence is a major flaw that is too difficult for me to suspend disbelief for.
