Did we see how young Ben was cured after the shotgun wound when he was carried to the temple? It probably was by the spring too, right?


That was not shown. Healing using the spring/pool is the easy assumption. But Dogen may have some knowledge of medicine--if you want to make that leap just because he can make a pill. Also you'd have to assume he was even there when young Ben was taken to the temple.
