I missed the first couple of seconds of the show, but they were showing us pictures of Jack - was there a woman in there somewhere? Possibly the mother of Jack's son?

Yes, one pic was early 20s-Jack with his dad and an unknown young woman on Jack's side.
Sounds like Jacob knew Jack would trash the lighthouse all along. He's just nudging Jack along the path he needs to take.

Yeah he seemed rather cool about it. I love it when Jacob's showing up.
