I think the LA reality is the fulfillment of all the promises made to everyone who made deals with either MIB or Jacob.
We just saw Sayid making his deal with MIB, and then saw him back with Nadja, of course not entirely to his liking, but that's what you get for trading with the devil.
Jack probably always wanted to be a good father, so that's what he is in the reality where the plane lands safely. He will make a deal with Jacob soon.
Dogen was promised his son back by Jacob, and that's what he got when we saw him meet Jack, regardless of him dying on the island.
The question is when will the island reality get eliminated and trigger the other one where all that "never happened". Whatever the climax of events is, the island will sink as a result, and not because of the bomb.
That's what I think.
